If you are submitting your ETD for graduation, you will be using your school's ETD Administrator submission site. The link to your school's site can be found on the School-specific Information page on the ETD site.
Once you have created or logged into your ProQuest account, you can then begin submitting your ETD and related graduation materials. Within the ETD Administrator site, you will find the following steps:
- Read through the Instructions page and make a note of the special instructions for the University of Pittsburgh
- Select the Publishing Option you would like to apply.
- Traditional ($0), will still allow your ETD to be in D-Scholarship in an Open Access availability.
- Open Access ($95), is a ProQuest status that includes the previous D-Scholarship availability but also makes it so anyone without a ProQuest subscription can read the full text of your ETD.
- Select the Access Options for your work in ProQuest
- You will also have the opportunity to set a different Access Option for D-Scholarship@Pitt, if so desired.
- You also have the option to opt-out of including your ETD in ProQuest. Please refer to the instructions in the submission form, or reach out to ETD Support for more information.
- Select the Institutional Repository (D-Scholarship@Pitt) Publishing Options
- This will indicate your desired Access Options to your ETD Approver for D-Scholarship@Pitt.
- Your ETD is required to be Openly Accessible in D-Scholarship@Pitt after any delayed releases or embargo periods.
- Enter your Contact Information
- Enter the Dissertation/Thesis Details
- The Year Manuscript Completed can be your defense date.
- The Degree Date should be the expected month and year of graduation. (Your ETD Approver can update this if needed.)
- The Department should match your primary program of your degree.
- If your degree isn't represented, please contact your ETD Approver and/or ETD Support for assistance.
- The Primary and Additional Subject Categories are subject listings used for ProQuest categorization and are not directly related to any University of Pittsburgh programs or degrees. (Only one is required)
- Enter your Advisor/Supervisor/Committee Chair name and email address
- Enter the other Committee Members names and email addresses.
- Upload a PDF copy of your ETD
- Upload any Copyright permission letters or statements as separate files.
- Upload any Supplemental Files that you wish to accompany your ETD
- Upload any Administrative Documents required for graduation. This may include:
- Graduate Survey completion files
- Receipt for ETD Processing fee
- Other documents required by your school
- Review the Submission Steps that might not have been completed.
- Select Submit and await feedback from your ETD Approver
