Borrowing Equipment Fall 2020

Per our new co-check-out procedure, please exit the library, inventory all items in your kit and test each piece within one hour of check-out.

For any issues with your kit, we must receive an email at ULS-HillmanEquipmentRoom@pitt.edu stating the issue within one hour of check-out. Any issues brought to our attention past this deadline will be your responsibility, including any lost or damaged item replacement fees.

Borrower's Agreement

By borrowing any equipment from the University Library System, University of Pittsburgh, you agree to be bound by the terms of the Equipment Loan Borrower Agreement. You understand that, in order to borrow these materials, you must be a current student, staff or faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh with a valid University ID card.

See "Borrower's Guide" Tab for more details and PDF of Borrower's Agreement.

About the Hillman Library Equipment Lending Program

The Hillman Library Equipment Lending Program began in 2015 and works as a partnership between the University of Pittsburgh Library System and the English and Studio Arts Departments.

We have two distinct collections within our Lending Program, The Hillman Collection and the Course Reserve Equipment

Hillman Equipment Collection Course Reserve Equipment
The Hillman Equipment Collection is available to everyone in the Pitt community, including current students, faculty, and staff.  Course Reserve Equipment is available only to those students enrolled in courses with special borrowing privileges.
