Ojo LatinoThis documentary photography exhibition, created by Latino immigrants in Pittsburgh, came in response to the general absence of Latinos and Latino immigrants in museum collections throughout the city. The exhibition was the brainchild of Camilo Ruiz, a grad student in Anthropology and Public Health, and was designed and installed by Paulino Pardo, grad student in HAA. Currently in the public library at Beechview, a Latino neighborhood, it will be on view at Pitt in mid-April and travel to other venues. The digital images and lengthy audio files of the participants discussing these photographs and their lives will be deposited in Pitt’s University Library System as a digital archival resource.
