Community Outreach and Partnerships @ Pitt-Bradford Hanley Library

Cooperatively advancing community, library, and campus goals

Our Goals for Community Outreach and Engagement

The Hanley Library seeks to develop and strengthen its ties with the campus and the Bradford community. Through community outreach, the Hanley Library strives to build awareness and share information about our programs, resources, and services.  Through community engagement, the Hanley Library seeks to collaborate with community and campus members to empower them to be active participants in the decision-making process.  Harnessing inspiration from The Plan for Pitt  (2021), our purpose is to help advance and improve outcomes and opportunities for the campus and the community.

Partnerships

The Hanley Library encourages campus faculty, staff, student organizations, and community organizations to contact us if they would like to explore collaboration opportunities. For campus members, we can help you promote events, collaborate on collection development, offer space on campus for dialogue, and provide moderation and facilitation for academic conversations. For community members, we can explore ways to reduce barriers to information, develop unique engagement opportunities to strengthen the bridge between the campus and the community, and collaborate on projects and programming to create an inclusive and equitable community.
