Library Research Help @ Pitt

This guide will help you with your research paper or project.

Digital Scholarship Services

Digital Scholarship Services (DSS) is a front-end to the library's resources, expertise, and services in support of a broad range of digital and data-intensive scholarly activities. Digital Scholarship Services (DSS) is open to students, faculty, and researchers from all disciplines for consultations and training for those involved in digital humanities projects and other data-driven scholarship. Feel free to visit or contact DSS to make an appointment.

Borrowing Equipment @ Hillman

All students, faculty, and staff with a current University of Pittsburgh ID card are eligible to borrow supplies and technology including laptops and noise isolating headphones from the Donald S. Wood Service Desk.

Additionally, equipment from the Hillman Equipment Collection can be borrowed during scheduled hours of operation, including audio and visual equipment.

Open Lab @ Hillman

Open Lab @ Hillman is a collaboration between the University Center for Teaching and Learning and the University Library System. Through workshops, class sessions, consultations and trainings, we aim to connect the Pitt community with technology for hand-on making and experiential learning. Drop in to experience virtual reality, learn to 3D print and 3D scan, use a vinyl cutter, or laser cut onto virtually any material. The Open Lab is located in Hillman Library room 132, near the service desk to the right of the main entrance.

Text and conText Lab

The Text & conText Lab, a Center for Creativity/University Library System partnership on the Third Floor of Hillman Library, provides an active environment for the creation, manipulation, and/or disassembly of text.
