The documents listed below under the Documents box reside on the University of Pittsburgh's Archive of European Integration (AEI). AEI is a free to everyone electronic repository and archive for research materials on the topic of European integration and unification. Its focus is the post-War development, activities, and foreign relations of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom), the European Economic Community (EEC), the European Community (EC), and the European Union (EU).
In the Documents section below, both Key Documents and Chronological Documents are selected as representative documents from European Council. Both Annuals and Series Tabs include all such documents on the AEI.
The AEI also contains certain types of independently-produced research materials, listed under Journals and Series and Conferences.
The following guide was produced by the European Documentation Centre (EDC), University of Cardiff:
Key Documents are mostly shorter items which provide an overview of the subject.
Chronological documents are mostly longer, more substantive items.
