Photo Collection

This study is unique because it provides the participants with an opportunity to tell their own stories through photographs. The research project will commence with an orientation session (~1 hour) that will cover all the details of the project. Over the course of the following two weeks, participants will:

  1. Take photographs of public spaces that you find interesting; does not have to be a library space
  2. Describe your feelings about that space – do you feel welcomed or excluded? We are interested in any space that creates a feeling of belonging for you personally.
  3. Take as many as photos as you wish but ensure that you upload 4 or 5 of your favorite ones.

If a participant does not have a cell phone, a digital camera will be provided

Discussion Groups

Once all the photos and descriptions has been collected, participants will take part in 1 discussion group to discuss their photos and descriptions. This discussion group will be approximately 90-120 minutes.
