Japanese Studies Databases for Researchers and Graduate Students @ Pitt

This guide is designed to illustrate databases and other free online resources for graduate students and researchers in Japanese Studies.

Streaming Video Requests by Faculty

We now have access to Academic Video Online (mostly documentaries with some film). Here is the list of 4,000 films that appear in this database.

All of our streaming video databases are here.

If faculty want to request a streaming version of a title, they should fill in this form and we will search other streaming platforms, including Kanopy

New or new to electronic book titles by Faculty

We will order E versions at the highest number of simultaneous users we can.  If a book is needed for a class (not a research request for an individual) and multiple user licenses are not available, we will order 3 copies of the titles, and ask that the faculty member please let us know if they hear of any difficulty with students having in access.

Here is the materials request form.

If we receive a request for a new book in print via our new materials request form, we will order that title in print.
