Women in STEM Resources @ Pitt

This guide is designed to assist those researching women in STEM -- Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics -- and related topics.

What is STEM?

STEM workers are those employed in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics occupations.

Historically, women have been underrepresented in these fields. According to a Census Bureau report, 26 percent of STEM workers were women and 74 percent were men in 2011 (Source: Disparities in STEM Employment by Sex, Race, and Hispanic Origin).

The articles, books and websites including in this guide are a sampling of what is available. For tips on locating additional items held by University of Pittsburgh libraries, go to the Find More Resources page.
