This guide will provide resources for research on key events and people in the years after the 1848 Seneca Falls conference, focusing in particular on the 20th century lead-up to the 19th Amendment which eliminated gender discrimination in voting. It will serve as a resource for scholars and students conducting historical research about the fight for women’s suffrage highlighting Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania where possible.
Many thanks in the creation of this guide go to the ULS Suffrage Committee and the members of the Pittsburgh Suffrage 100 committee, particularly Dr. Barbara Johnstone for her incredible research efforts.
