Exhibit Brief Description

"1989 China/Avant-Garde Exhibition: Reflections" provides a rare opportunity to view selected materials from the personal archive of Gao Minglu relative to the first nationwide avant-garde exhibition directly associated with contemporary Chinese art. Primary resources presented at the current exhibition include art works, photos, news coverage, and most importantly, Gao Minglu's work notes, correspondence, official documents and reports that record the initiation, preparation and launch of the China/Avant-Garde Exhibition.
