• Get to know your liaison librarian, Judy Brink. Email her to set up an introductory appointment!
• Be familiar with the Engineering databases to find the best resources.
• Set up your Interlibrary Loan (ILL) account so you can easily request articles that we don't have at Pitt.
• Working from off-campus? Make sure you know about EZ Proxy!
• Set up your Library Links in Google Scholar to get full-text access to more resources.
• Start using EndNote or Mendeley to keep your research organized and quickly create bibliographies. You can also sign up for a class at the library.
• Register for a free account with your favorite database or journal to create email alerts and save searches.
• Familiarize yourself with open access publishing, our Author Fee Fund, and more at the Office of Scholarly Communication and Publishing (OSCP).
