Metadata for Research Data Management Module Package

This module provides an introduction to metadata for research data management. It is designed to give attendees a high-level overview of metadata standards and enforce the value of metadata in the research data lifecycle. The module defines metadata within the scope of research data and data management, introduces common metadata standards, and details the benefits of metadata for creators, users, developers, and organizations. Finally, it highlights ways in which the University Library System can provide assistance in this area. The module can be combined with the Creating Quality Metadata and Data Documentation Modules to form a more complete lesson on metadata.
