Getting to Pittsburgh
AIRPLANE
Pittsburgh International Airport is a 25 minute drive from Pittsburgh. The 28X bus will take you to Oakland. The ride is approximately 1 hour.
CAR
Generally GPS and online maps services (Google Maps, Mapquest, etc.) perform well in this area.
GETTING TO HILLMAN LIBRARY and the CARNEGIE LIBRARY OF PITTSBURGH
WALKING
From WYNDHAM UNIVERSITY CENTER—an easy walk of about .4 of a mile. Exit the hotel to the right and make a right hand turn at the end of the parking lot. The Cathedral of Learning will be straight ahead. Turn right onto Fifth Ave. Walk 1 block and make a left onto Bigelow Boulevard. The William Pitt Union will be on your right. Walk 1 1/2 blocks and Hillman Library will be on the right. Enter on the Ground Floor and head to the back of the floor. The Amy Knapp Room is at the end of the hall near the elevators.
The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is directly across Schenley Plaza from Hillman Library.
CAR
Parking is available on the street and in the Soldiers and Sailors Parking Garage. Parking on the street is $3.00 per hour until 6pm.
Guests staying at the Wyndham Pittsburgh University Center pay $15 per night (with our group rate). If you are not staying at the Wyndham, you can park in their lot for a day rate of $5, as long as you leave by sometime in the evening.
