Goethes Werke This link opens in a new windowThis database consists primarily of the Weimar Edition of Goethes works, originally published between 1887-1919 by Hermann Böhlau (and Nachfolger) under the patronage of Grosshezogin Sophie von Sachsen and hence often referred to as the Sophien-Ausgabe. It is supplemented by material not found in the Weimar Edition, namely Goethes Gespräche, edited by Woldemar Freiherr von Biedermann (Leipzig, 1889-1896) and all the letters discovered since the completion of the Weimar Edition: Goethes Werke, Nachträge zur Weimarer Ausgabe, edited by Paul Raabe (dtv, München, 1990).
All three of these sources are reproduced in their entirety, totaling 63 Literary volumes, 14 Scientific volumes, 16 volumes of Diaries, 53 volumes of Letters and 10 volumes of Conversations (some 65,00 pages of text). All tables, diagrams, charts, and illustrations are included, together with all of the comprehensive editorial apparatus. Original page breaks and line numbers are captured.
