Interactive Poll
What method should the library use to create new library guides and resource materials?
Policy Information
LibGuides is a service which the ULS will use to create informational guides and informational pages. This step is NOT meant to replace the ULS main web presence but rather to add to our online offerings with easily editable information portals.
- Users need to have their supervisor's approval to create a guide. Supervisors should submit a request to one of the libguide admins to activate a new guide.
- LibGuides should not be used for any personal web pages, nor for topics not directly associated with the library, its functions and mission.
- When creating new guides start with one of the templates provided on this page.
- If there is a guide created by another university, you can copy it and mimic the design, but there is no direct linking feature.
- If you have a request for style changes in the guide templates please contact one of the system administrators.
- Feel free to link to content (library hours for example) on the main ULS website but do not embed or duplicate information from the main ULS site in a guide.
- Guide creators are free to link to or embed appropriate outside content, but remember to adhere to all copyright and usage regulations when adding content.
- If you have an idea for creating audio, video, or visual content for use in your guide, let your supervisor know, and supervisors let us know. The ULS has tools and expertise in these areas and can help you.
Before creating a box check if one has already been created. If so link to that box instead of duplicating the effort.
