LibGuides @ Pitt - A Faculty Resource

How University Library System LibGuides can be used in your classroom.

Information Literacy?

The Association of College and Research Libraries defines Information Literacy as a “set of skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze, and use information."

The University of Pittsburgh has identified information literacy (#2) as one of 8 learning outcomes that all Pitt students must master before graduation.

Information seeking skills are best learned when embedded within assignments and disciplinary coursework.  ULS librarians are available to help instructors design assignments and activites that blend information literacy within the learning outcomes intended for your students.

Possible Concepts Covered in a Guide
