Codex Humboldt Fragmento 1 (Ms. amer. 2) is one of 16 fragments of indigenous pictorial documents from the collection of Antonio León y Gama acquired at public auction by Baron Alexander von Humboldt during his visit to New Spain (1803-1804). The Códice Azoyú 2 reverso was found in the Tlapanec town of Azoyú located in the Costa Chica of Guerrero and currently housed in the Biblioteca Nacional de Antropología e Historia (Mexico); both codices belong to a larger document (about 1/3 still missing) consisting of at least 52 painted folios measuring up to 15.5 meters in length.

Los 80 documentos reunidos en este tomo provienen en su mayor parte del archivo municipal de Tequixtepec y del Archivo General de la Nación, y consisten sobre todo de comunicaciones oficiales entre los representantes de la comunidad y la autoridad española.
