Margaret Hodges, the driving force behind the Nesbitt Collection, was a professor of library science (particularly in storytelling and resources and services to children courses) and authored some 60 books for children. Hodges was renowned as a thoughtful and meticulous researcher. Among the materials available from Special Collections are her notes, correspondence, galleys, and typescripts involved in the creation of Whittington and His Cat, published posthumously by Holiday House in 2006.
