Religions of the West - Oakland Campus for 2141 HIST 0125: Selected Internet Resources

This guide is designed to support the research of the students in Dr. Shear's Religions of the West class.

Oxford Bibliographies Online

Included in this list of peer-reviewed bibliographies on specific topics are introductions to each topic, with guides to introductory works, textbooks, guidebooks, journals, and reference works.

Bibliographies are browseable by subject area and keyword searchable. One of the topic areas is Islamic Studies, and the ULS will be adding to the list of topic areas in the future.

After selecting the "Click for Web Access" link, select "Islamic Studies" and either "Browse" a subject or type in a word or phrase in the Search box.

Once you locate the information you are looking for, you can save your citations, or set up a "My OBO" account to create bibliographies and share your references. Each citation you uncover also allows you which local libraries own the item you are looking for.

Credo Reference

Credo Reference serves as a gateway to full-text information from a large variety of reference books, such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, biographies, and quotation sources.

You can search by image, create a concept map of your topic, browse all topic pages by category, or select topics from A to Z.

When you are done searching, you can save, print, export, or email your search results by selecting the "Save" icon next to each result. Click on "Saved Results" at the top of the page, and choose which option you prefer.
