Resources and techniques for finding information about Jewish Studies

Jewish Studies Journals @ Pitt

The Jewish Studies collection in Hillman Library includes both print and online journals or periodicals. There are more than 50 online subscriptions to Jewish Studies journals available to the Pitt community, and more than 15 titles in print format. The list on the left is only a small sample of the collection.  To locate the complete collection, do a Subject Search in PittCat Classic for Judaism--Periodicals.  Here is what this looks like:

a PITTCat Classic Subject Heading search box using the phrase Judaism, followed by two dashes, and then the word Periodicals.

Remember, the search above was done in Pittcat Classic, not Pittcat Plus. Also, keep in mind that some of these titles may be both in print and online. The only way to know exactly which format and which volume numbers or years are in the library is to check in the online catalog.

Another way to search for online journals if you know the title is to use the E-Journals tab to the right of the Pittcat Classic tab. Simply type in the journal title and you will see a display of the years and volume numbers held for that title. As with all catalog searches, you may need to try both methods of searching to accurately determine if the library has a title electronically and what volumes are included.
